Portfolio Photographer of the Year

In celebration of the Scott Antarctic Expedition Centenary, the WWT Photography Competition has teamed up with Exodus in partnership with Quark Expeditions to offer an amazing one-off category prize of a trip of a lifetime to Antarctica.

The Portfolio Photographer of the Year award will go to the photographer who has entered at least three outstanding shortlisted photographs in any of the four main categories in two or more seasonal heats of the competition.

This once-in-a-lifetime prize is offered to the Portfolio Photographer of the Year winner courtesy of Exodus in partnership with Quark Expeditions, specialists in polar expeditions. In addition, winner will also receive a subscription to Bird Watching Magazine, courtesy of Bird Watching Magazine.

Antarctic Explorer (PSX) 

 The prize is a place on the 12 day Antarctic Explorer trip aboard the Sea Spirit ship exploring one of the most extreme wetlands in the world.

The the South Shetland Islands and the channels of the Antarctic Peninsula form arguably the most spectacular and certainly the most pristine wilderness on earth.This is an astonishing adventure into the heart of the Peninsula. It is a heady and inspiring cocktail of towering blue icebergs which refract searing blues and greens, whether against piercing clear skies or slate grey ones. It is home to an extraordinary array of wildlife: penguins of almost all descriptions, Leopard and smaller seals and whales, seen from the shore, the Zodiacs and from on board.

The prize also includes return flights from the UK. This is a journey that appeals to many: photographers, wildlife enthusiasts, ornithologists or those who simply want to marvel at the peaks of Deception Island or the striking colours of Iceberg Alley in the most immaculate wilderness anywhere.

Portfolio Photographer of the Year prize terms and conditions:
  1. To enter the competition you must be 18 years old or over at the time of entry.
  2. The prize will be one Exodus holiday for one adult.
  3. The winning prize is one place on the Antarctic Explorer, based on a twin cabin on the Sea Spirit ship.
  4. The prize is a full-package holiday and includes flights from London (Overseas residents can either join in London or take the trip land-only). accommodation will be on a twin-share basis.
  5. The winners agree that their names may be used in all required publicity material.
  6. The closing date for entry is 31 August 2012
  7. One entry per day allowed per entrant
  8. No purchase necessary.
  9. Excludes any Exodus employees or their families or anyone connected with the administration of the competition
  10. The cost of optional activities and travel insurance is not included in the prize.
  11. The winner is responsible for ensuring that they are able to accept the prize as set out in accordance with these terms and conditions
  12. Exodus Travels Ltd reserves the right to exclude entrants and withhold the prize for violating any of these terms and conditions.
  13. The prize is subject to availability and the holiday departure date must be no later than 31 December 2013, and must be booked via Exodus Travels by 30 January 2013.
  14. No cash or other alternative is available and the prize cannot be transferred. If a winner is unable to join one of the trips (e.g. due to health reasons) then they may be able to switch to an alternative Exodus holiday of equivalent value to the prize.
  15. No correspondence will be entered into.
  16. By entering the competition, participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions as well as Exodus' standard booking conditions.
