World Wetlands category
From ponds in Paris, lakes in Lagos to oceans in Oceana, we are looking for your photographs that show wetlands large or small, good or bad, from all over the world.
This is the first wetland photography competiton to highlight the plight of wetlands worldwide and the judges are looking for ‘moving’ images that represent the plight of and pressures on wetlands, as well as their beauty.
As this category will not produce a winner from each centre for each heat of the competition, at the end of each season, a shortlist of images, and a single winning photograph will be chosen by the judges and at the end of the four seasonal heats, all shortlisted World Wetlands entries will go through to the national finals to be held in autumn 2012.
The national winner of the World Wetlands category will win a 5 night eco-tourism break for two people to New York State and the opportunity to see the wetland spectacle that is Niagara Falls, including return flights from the UK to Buffalo with United, operated by Continental Airlines, plus accommodation at the new luxurious Embassy Suites Buffalo. In addition, the winner will also receive a subscription to Birdwatching Magazine, courtesy of Birdwatching Magazine.
