Young Photographer of the Year

All entries into the Wetland Wildlife, Wetland Landscapes, Wildlife & People categories made by Under 18s (those aged 17 or under on the closing date of 31 August 2012) will automatically be transferred to the prestigious Young Photographer of the Year category. Entrants who are under 16 will require parental consent before entering.
Photographs entered MUST have been taken at one of WWT's nine wetland wildlife centres and be entered in the correct seasonal heat in which they were taken.
After each seasonal heat closes, the entries will be shortlisted and a winner chosen from each of WWT's nine wetland wildlife centres. Winners from each of the four seasonal heats will go through to the national finals to be held in autumn 2012.
The national winner of the Young Photographer of the Year award will win a 7 day family activity holiday in mid Wales, courtesy of Mount Severn. In addition, the winner will also receive a subscription to Birdwatching Magazine, courtesy of Birdwatching Magazine.
For an Activity Holiday with a difference – Mount Severn Activity Centre is the place to be. A Grade II Georgian luxury house set in 14 acres of woodland with the River Severn running through. Creating the feeling of a ‘country house party’ our guests come to both take part in the wide range of outdoor activities and to relax and unwind away from the stress and pressure of modern day living.
All of the activities are provided by our experienced instructor and can include kayaking, archery, high and low ropes, orienteering and raft building. Whilst locally we can take you climbing, abseiling, caving, hill walking and gorge walking
In addition, locally, there is fishing, clay pigeon shooting, golf, horse riding, white-water rafting, canoeing, windsurfing, cycling and rally driving.
All regional/seasonal winners will win a photography course held by nature photography experts Wild Arena.
